Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 October 2026
In short
- BarLink is for adults (18+) in and around the bar and hospitality trade.
- Be respectful, post only what you have the right to post, and don't use BarLink for anything illegal.
- In the Marketplace you buy from other members, not from BarLink. BarLink handles the payment, holds it until delivery and offers Buyer Protection.
- You keep the rights to what you post; you let us show it in BarLink.
- Dutch law applies, and your rights as a consumer always stay intact.

1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the BarLink app and website (“BarLink”). BarLink is run by BarLink, Heathrowstraat 98, 1043 CH Amsterdam, the Netherlands, KvK 96109092 (“we”, “us”).
By creating an account or using BarLink you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. For the Marketplace, the Buyer Protection and refund policy shown in the app also applies, and competitions can have their own rules.
2. Who can use BarLink
- You must be 18 or older. BarLink is about the alcohol and hospitality trade.
- You must give correct information about yourself, including your date of birth.
- If you use BarLink for a business (for example a bar, brand or employer), you confirm you are allowed to act for that business, and the business is bound by these terms too.
- You may not use BarLink if we have banned you before, unless we agree.
3. Your account
- You can sign up with email, Google or Apple. Email accounts may be asked to verify their email address before using some features, such as the Marketplace.
- Guest mode lets you look around with limited features.
- Keep your login details safe. You are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
- One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise (for example a separate account for a bar).
- Marks such as “verified”, “industry” or “business” mean we have done a check at a point in time. They are not a guarantee about the member.
4. Community rules
BarLink is a professional community. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, violent or sexually explicit content;
- pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your job, workplace or business;
- post false or misleading information, spam, chain messages or unsolicited advertising;
- share other people's personal data, photos or private messages without their permission;
- post content you don't have the rights to, such as other people's photos, logos or copyrighted work;
- encourage irresponsible or underage drinking, drunk driving or illegal drug use;
- offer or advertise anything illegal, including jobs that don't comply with employment law;
- scrape or copy BarLink's data, interfere with the app or its security, or access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- get around a block, suspension or ban.
Our community guidelines in the app explain these rules in more detail.
5. Your content
- You keep the rights to what you post (photos, videos, texts, listings and more).
- You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, free licence to host, store, show, adapt (for example resize or compress) and share your content within BarLink, so that BarLink can work. We may also show public content (such as an event or a listing) to promote BarLink, for example in an app store screenshot or social media post; we won't use your content in paid advertising without asking you.
- The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content that others have already shared or that we must keep by law (see the Privacy Policy).
- You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to post it.
6. Reports, moderation and appeals
- Report anything that breaks these terms or the law with the report option in the app, or by emailing support@barlinkapp.com. You can also report illegal content without an account by email.
- We look at reports carefully and without undue delay. We can remove or hide content, limit features, or suspend or ban accounts. How strongly we act depends on how serious and how frequent the problem is.
- If we take action against your content or account, we tell you what we did and why, unless the law doesn't allow it or it would put someone at risk.
- Appeals: if you disagree with a decision, reply to our message or email support@barlinkapp.com within 6 months. A person who was not involved in the first decision reviews it. Under the EU Digital Services Act you may also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, or go to court.
- We can also act on our own initiative, for example against spam or fraud.
7. Jobs, events and bars
- Job ads, events and bar listings are posted by members and businesses. BarLink is not the employer, organiser or venue, and doesn't check every detail.
- Employers are responsible for their job ads and for following employment and anti-discrimination law. Applicants share their details with the employer when they apply.
- Organisers are responsible for their events, including tickets, safety and any changes or cancellations.
8. Marketplace
8.1 How it works
- The Marketplace lets members buy and sell bar equipment, merchandise and other items. The sale is between the buyer and the seller. BarLink is not the seller, doesn't own the items and is not a party to the sale.
- Each listing shows whether the seller is a private seller or a business seller. This matters for your rights (see 8.4).
- Payments are processed by Stripe. BarLink collects the payment, holds it during delivery and pays the seller out afterwards.
8.2 Buying
- The price, shipping costs, any Buyer Protection fee and the total are shown before you pay. When you pay, you have a binding agreement with the seller.
- An item is reserved for you while you check out.
- Every order is refunded in full if the seller doesn't ship it within 7 days of payment, cancels it, or the parcel gets lost.
- With optional Buyer Protection (a small fee shown at checkout), you are also covered if an item arrives damaged or is significantly not as described. You must report a problem in the app within 2 days of being told that your order was delivered. The Buyer Protection and refund policy in the app has the full details.
- If you don't report a problem in time, the order is completed and the seller is paid.
- Unless agreed otherwise with the seller, you pay the cost of returning an item.
8.3 Selling
- To sell, you set up payouts with Stripe and accept Stripe's terms. Stripe may ask to verify your identity.
- Your listing must be accurate and honest (condition, defects, photos of the actual item). You must own the item and be allowed to sell it.
- Ship within 5 days of payment using the shipping label created in the app, or hand the item over in person if you agreed to collection.
- Fees: BarLink charges a commission on the item price, and the share of the payment costs for the item, as shown in the app before you list. These are deducted from your payout. Shipping costs paid by the buyer cover the label.
- Payouts: we release your payout after delivery is confirmed and the buyer's time to report a problem has ended. If a buyer reports a problem, we may hold the payout until it is resolved. If a refund is owed under these terms or the Buyer Protection policy, it comes from the payment for that order.
- You receive a monthly statement and an invoice for BarLink's fees in the app.
- You are responsible for your own taxes. EU law (DAC7) may require us to collect information about sellers and report their sales to the tax authority.
8.4 Business sellers
If you sell as a business, you must say so, give your correct business name, contact details, KvK number and VAT number, and follow consumer law. In particular, consumers who buy from you have a 14-day right of withdrawal after delivery and a legal guarantee that the item is as described and fit for use. These rights don't apply when buying from a private seller.
8.5 Items you can't sell
- alcoholic drinks, tobacco, vapes, drugs, medicines or anything else that needs a licence or age check to sell;
- weapons, stolen goods, counterfeit or replica items, and anything that infringes someone's intellectual property;
- unsafe or recalled products, and anything else that is illegal to sell in the Netherlands or the buyer's country.
8.6 Disputes between buyers and sellers
Try to sort out a problem together first, using the order screen in the app. If that doesn't work, report it in the app and we will decide on refunds and payouts under these terms and the Buyer Protection policy. Our decision doesn't take away your legal rights against the other party.
8.7 What BarLink does and doesn't do
We provide the Marketplace, the payment handling, shipping labels and Buyer Protection. We don't inspect items, and we aren't responsible for the quality, safety or legality of items, or for what buyers and sellers say. We can remove listings, cancel orders and suspend Marketplace access to protect members or to follow the law.
9. World Class and competitions
- Competitions such as World Class have their own rules, shown in the app. Those rules apply alongside these terms.
- Receipts and entries must be genuine and your own. Fake or edited receipts, entries from someone else, or other attempts to cheat lead to disqualification and can lead to a ban.
- Points have no cash value and can't be exchanged or transferred, unless the competition rules say otherwise.
- The results and judging decisions in the competition rules are final, to the extent the law allows.
10. BarLink's rights
The BarLink name, logo, app, website, design and software belong to BarLink or our licensors. You may use BarLink as these terms allow, but you may not copy, sell or reuse it, or build a competing service from it, without our written permission.
11. Availability and changes to BarLink
We work to keep BarLink available and safe, but we can't promise it will always work without interruption or errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop a feature you rely on, such as the Marketplace, we will give reasonable notice where we can and make sure open orders are completed or refunded.
12. Liability
- BarLink is a platform where members share information and trade with each other. We are not responsible for what other members post, offer or do, but we act on reports as described in section 6.
- If we are liable to you, our liability is limited to direct damage, up to the higher of: the fees you paid to BarLink in the 12 months before the damage, or €250.
- These limits don't apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or where the law doesn't allow them. If you are a consumer, these terms don't take away any rights you have under consumer law.
- If you are using BarLink as a business and break these terms or the law, you are responsible for the damage this causes us, including reasonable legal costs, if a third party makes a claim against us because of it.
13. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in the app's settings. If you have an order in progress, finish it first.
- We can suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the law, if we have to by law, or to protect other members. We tell you why (see section 6), except where the law or safety prevents it.
- What happens to your data when your account ends is described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example for new features or new laws. If a change is important, we tell you in the app at least 15 days before it applies (or sooner if the law requires it) and ask you to accept it. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before the change applies.
15. Law and disputes
- Dutch law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country.
- Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam. As a consumer you can also go to the court where you live.
- We would rather solve problems together first: contact us and we will try to help.
